BEST NEW LAUNCH (SCOTLAND)
The Weather Digital
If there is such a thing as a silver lining when agencies are forced to close their doors it is that sometimes other agencies start up that look likely to go on and strengthen the industry. The Weather, which is the digital team from design agency stalwart Graphic Partners/Greenparka, quickly had to get their house in order when forced to begin on their own when the Edinburgh agency closed, but they did so with the industry wishing it well.
The team of three – Charlie Cutler and Darryl Davidson who act as directors of the new agency, and Aaron Harper who took the role of creative director, continue to work with previous clients.
Updated: Thanks for all the excellent CVs – we have now managed to fill this role. If we have further vacancies we will post them on the website.
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiast and ambitious junior PHP developer to join our development team.
As part of the technical team you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our award winning client websites working on a variety of client projects across diverse business sectors.
You must possess excellent spoken and written English as you will be liaising with external clients.
Key Skills

First blog update in way too long – we have a good excuse though – we have been very busy!
One of our most recent projects has been an interactive microsite for Turnberry, A Luxury Collection Resort, Scotland to promote one their wonderful Deluxe Ocean View Rooms.
We were privileged enough to have a look around the resort at the end of July just after the 138th Open Championship had finished. The refurbished resort really is spectacular – the views from the Grand Tea Lounge of Ailsa Craig are breaktaking.

The Weather are proud to announce the launch of the Queensberry Properties website.
Queensberry is an exciting name in residential development; a partnership between Cruden Homes (East) Ltd, one of Scotland’s leading privately owned housebuilder/developers and Buccleuch Property, one of the country’s most established land and property experts.
The website allows interested users to do detailed searches of the Queensberry developments to find their potential new home. Users can also sign up to be automatically notified by email when properties they are interested are updated.
The website is fully updateable by Queensberry Properties via the integrated Content Management System and provides detailed management reports on how well key goals are being met.
The Weather spent the afternoon at the Scottish Parliament as guests of Scotland’s Churches Scheme (SCS) for their annual gathering. The gathering was attended by a selection of the member churches, the board members and the organisations patron Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

OK guys, lets get some photo’s taken of ourselves so we can use them on the site and for PR purposes. Sounds like a pretty simple idea, eh? Well, while we take what we do professionally very seriously, it seems that any form of maturity goes out of the window when theres a camera out and pictures being taken.

First of all we thought the office was haunted as there was random knocking that we’ve never got to the bottom of.
Today, Darryl’s PC was doing some funny things. Each time he turned it on – it turned itself off. Very strange happenings.
There’s also the Kettle. Once you’ve boiled it and made a cuppa and are sitting enjoying it, the kettle will switch itself back on. Initially we thought it was a feature of the kettle – like to keep the water constantly hot – but no, its not fancy enough for a feature like that.
I’m convinced it’s Gremlins!

The Weather now has a place to call home. We signed on the dotted line for an office today. It is within an old school. Our office is the old headmasters office, it’s a great space with plenty light in through the three windows. There’s a small meeting area too and even some interesting cubby holes.

We got a nice surprise this afternoon as one of us was going to nip out to get some munchies and juice, the postie had left a little package at our door – our new business cards. The cards feature each of our details on one side respectively and on the rear we have a selection of different weather symbols. It’s like Pokemon! – Collect ‘em all!
We needed the cards fast so we used Moo.com. We ordered them on the wednesday evening about 6pm and they arrived with us on friday at about 3pm. We didn’t pay for express delivery, just the standard rate – and they came that quickly! Now THAT’S good service!
